Periods of Internet access instability were reported in Portugal across different telecommunications operators. Intermittent failures were observed overnight, followed by renewed constraints affecting access to several online services during the day.
Cloudflare Radar identified a BGP Route Leak associated with event 614156. This type of occurrence can cause abnormal routing changes between networks and operators, leading to intermittent access, increased latency or the unavailability of some destinations. There was no confirmation that this event explained every issue observed in Portugal, although it may have been related to part of the instability.
Observable symptoms included temporary connection drops, intermittent access to websites and cloud platforms, unusual latency, failures affecting VPN, VoIP or remote applications, and situations where some services remained available while others could not be reached.
